BDS ® Mirror in Poland media

no blind spots

image the end of March 2009, all vehicles over 3.5 tonnes registered after 1 January 2000 must be equipped with a lu-Sterk blind spot eliminating mirror. Practical solutions to this problem-not the company offers Ena-truck.

D irective European Union 2007/38/EC regulating the in-this issue went into force on 6 August 2007, but the final ter-min equipment trucks in the rear blind spot is March 31, 2009. So time is on-the truth a little. The new rules have been intro-duced to eliminate mar-box appearing on your the right side of the truck. It is the cause of many accidents-such as cyclists and pedestrians off.

MANUFACTURERS rowych to molecular weight of vehicles already incorporate the new regulations limiting the blind spots in vehicles produced in-tion since 2006, installing a wide-angle mirrors (Class IV) and rampowym/kra- wężnikowym (class V) mirrors with a radius of curvature of 300 mm, which, by reducing (with 400 mm) radius of curvature mują include a blind spot coverage of the Directive. Unfortunately for all vehicles-recorded from 2000 to 2006 did not include the problem of blind spots and was fitted with- ne of mirrors with a radius of curvature of 400 mm. Owners of these vehicles in order to cope dzącym compris-force regulations, can replace the cartridge or mirror Class IV and V (the need for exchange-ny two mirrors + su labor of wire services) or external mount ne mitigations blind spot mirror on a special pole outside.

Alternative solutions-niami still camera system covering the blind spot, or the interior mirror assembly of class IV and V (universal lu-Sterk Truck Depot). In practice, customers due to its high costs rarely decide in August for the installation of additional external lu-Sterk or co-mentation of the camera system. Pop-polar and is exchanged among customers wkładów/luste- cells of class IV and V. Unfortunately, very often it is also a cheap solution, since it ties in with that it is unnecessary exchange of two mirrors or contributions (angle and ram-tronic) for the products with a 300-mile-meter radius, this must be added about 20-30 minutes for service.

SO INTERESTING proposal seems to be applicable for universal uni-mirrors Truck Depot. However, unlike con-kurencyjnych products Truck Depot offers installation of blind spot mirrors on the inner side of the upright-ing A weight-ki. This unique and patented solution is ne a lot of advantages such as flexibility (can be installed in each truck pojeź-day), easy and quick installation (up to 10 minutes, every driver can do it properly informed-ern range). It is also the cheapest solution-binding (assembly only a mirror-ka themselves). Of course there are many other advantages of this solution, such as a wider range of fields of view of blind spots than required in the directive and the fact that by placing mirrors inside the cabin, it is not for-soiling, no freezes and no co-roduje. But the most persuasive-ing to this solution are to provide country-that-dziły prejudices and pre-EU provision introduced this requirement properly informed-tural countries (Belgium, Netherlands and Denmark). In these countries, mirror-ka Truck Depot were Dopo-ted with approximately 40% of registered vehicles-tion there, and thus the manufacturer has a lot of faces in the sale of over 200 thousand. units in Europe.

MIRROR'S Truck Depot are available for all cr read over 3.5 tonnes GVW. In addition to mirror the customer receives a universal mounting kit and installation instructions. Virtually all vehicles are available in kits to be ordered separately Erecting FOR IN-welcome to the model. These kits use a mounting point bracket on the right side of the passenger. As men-already mentioned, assembly and setting the mirrors can be checked and konać alone, which is another advantage of the product. Additional information of the product can be found at www.enatruck.pl .

blind spot mirrors to be fitted to UK HGVs

Blind-spot mirrors will soon have to be fitted to all heavy goods vehicles in the UK.

Following a campaign by Cycling Plus magazine, the British Government has agreed to implement new EU legislation on the issue.

The move comes in the wake of official Department for Transport figures which suggested it would save the lives of an estimated 18 cyclists a year.

From 31 March, all vehicles covered by directive 2007/38/EC – basically, all goods vehicles capable of carrying more than 3.5 tonnes – have to be fitted with wide-angle and close proximity (blind-spot) mirrors.

From 1 April, lorries will have to undergo annual tests to make sure their mirrors comply with the new law.

New law requires drivers to learn to share the road with truckers

A new law that goes into effect Jan. 1, 2009 will require all Minnesota driving schools to teach future drivers how to share the road with big rigs.

Prospective drivers will learn about blind spots, stopping distances and other safety issues involved in driving with big trucks on the road.

Truck drivers near Hudson, WI told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS the biggest problem is blind spots. They said 18-wheelers have five of them. Two are in the front corners. Two are on the sides and one is in back. When cars are in any of these areas they can not see them.

They also said they believe too many drivers do not leave enough distance between themselves and a semi. Truckers told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS when they are going 65 MPH with a full load it takes the equivilant of three football field lengths to stop.

Truck drivers 5 Eyewitness News talked to said they believe the new law is a great start, but think drivers should be required to spend time driving with semi trucks so they can better understand the challenges they face.
